Corrections and reconciliation log

Wapner Watch updates its reporting when original public records clarify, correct, or qualify earlier wording. This log preserves the prior formulation, the corrected formulation, the basis for the correction, and the date applied.

How corrections are handled

A correction records a change in wording or classification; it is not a new allegation. Primary records control over shorthand, summaries, and incomplete source extracts. When records describe the same matter differently, the site labels the issue RECONCILIATION REQUIRED rather than selecting a conclusion.

Wapner committee loan to Macias committee

Previous wording
Earlier summaries described the August 20, 2024 transaction as a political contribution or transfer.
Corrected wording
The Macias committee reported a $40,000 campaign loan from the Wapner committee on August 20, 2024. The relationship is presented as a campaign loan, separate from ordinary monetary contributions.
Reason for correction
The original committee filings identify the transaction as a loan. Source-record naming differences are retained as discrepancies rather than used as biographical labels.

Earlier summaries grouped the October 10 amount with the $40,000 loan as a single contribution total.
Corrected wording
The $10,150.27 October 10 transaction is presented separately. Wapner's filing describes slate-mailer support, while the Macias filing reports a monetary contribution received.
Reason for correction
The records use different reporting treatments for the same amount. The site does not characterize that difference as a violation.

Macias loan repayment timing

Corrected wording
The site reports that the available lender and borrower filings both show a $5,000 outstanding balance but do not presently reconcile the timing of preceding reductions. A transaction-by-transaction repayment chronology is not published.
Reason for correction
The Wapner and Macias committee statements place reported loan reductions in different reporting periods.

Corrected wording
Wapner Watch identifies Daisy Macias's committee as Ontario City Council District 4. The differing District 3 wording is preserved only when describing the source-record discrepancy.

Macias's committee records identify FPPC ID 1473607 as the District 4 committee.

OIAA stipend governance

Earlier shorthand suggested Wapner created the stipend structure or treated the revised structure as unlimited.
Corrected wording
Wapner Watch reports that Wapner was OIAA president and participated in the unanimous vote on Resolution 2024-01. The item originated with legal counsel, was presented by the CEO, and was reviewed by general counsel. The revised structure provides a $1,000 monthly stipend for the first six qualifying functions plus $150 for additional qualifying functions subject to majority Commission approval.
Reason for correction
The meeting record supports participation in a vote, not authorship, and does not state an unlimited-payment rule.

Macias National CORE disclosure

Previous wording
Earlier shorthand could suggest National CORE paid Macias while she was a councilmember.
Corrected wording
Macias's assuming-office Form 700 disclosed National CORE employment and more than $100,000 in gross income for the reporting period associated with her assumption of office. The uploaded 2025 annual filing has no corresponding Schedule C entry. The available records do not establish continued employment, payroll, or a disclosure violation.
Reason for correction
A Form 700 reports specified interests for a reporting period and does not by itself establish later employment status or legal conclusions.
