Our Mission
Accountability Through Public Information
Wapner Watch is a public-record research and accountability project created to help Ontario residents examine consequential information concerning Alan Wapner through documented records, credible reporting, and independently reviewable evidence. What began amid public interest surrounding the 2026 federal investigation has developed into a broader research resource covering public service, political activity, financial disclosures, public-agency compensation, campaign finance, government relationships, development matters, and related investigations or reporting. Our purpose is to compile, organize, preserve, and explain publicly available information so residents can evaluate the public record for themselves. Wapner Watch distinguishes documented facts from credible reporting, allegations, open questions, and unresolved legal issues. Where authoritative public records are available, readers are encouraged to inspect the underlying documents rather than rely solely on our characterization of them. Wapner Watch is not affiliated with a political campaign or political party. Alan Wapner has not been charged with a crime. The existence of an investigation, financial relationship, campaign contribution, government vote, or other documented connection does not by itself establish wrongdoing. We publish corrections when warranted and welcome credible contrary evidence.

Every claim is sourced. We link to original reporting and public records. If we cannot verify something, we do not publish it.
No Charges ≠ No Accountability
Alan Wapner has not been charged with any crime. An active federal investigation is nonetheless a matter of legitimate public concern for voters evaluating a candidate.

We do not endorse any candidate or party. We are not funded by or coordinating with any campaign. This is a civic project, not a political operation.

Corrections
Wapner Watch corrects factual errors when identified. Corrections are listed here with the date applied and a description of what changed.
Correction: An earlier version of the timeline identified February 2025 as the approval date for the long-term El Prado agreement. County records show that the February 11, 2025 action (Resolution No. 25-53) authorized sole-source negotiations with El Prado Development, LLC — it did not itself award the 22-year lease extension. The Board approved the negotiated long-term agreement on April 29, 2025, after being presented with the alternative of proceeding with competitive procurement. The timeline and evidence matrix have been corrected to reflect this two-step sequence. A separate reader assertion that the negotiated agreement involved "cheaper rent" has not been added to the record — the available evidence establishes that the agreement was negotiated without competitive solicitation, but does not yet establish that the County accepted lower rent than it could have obtained through competition.
